Most of us have heard about the alleged sensitivity of animals to imminent earthquakes. This Japanese academic author makes quite a persuasive case that the anecdotal material has a solid core of reality to it and the sensitivity is due to animal reaction to precursory low frequency electromagnetic waves generated underground from piezoelectric effects on quartz. ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Margaret Morgan is a professional calligrapher and an Associate of the Calligraphy & Lettering Arts Society. She regularly accepts both public and private commissions and conducts workshops for calligraphic societies. Although traditional formal calligraphy involving gilding, painting, and heraldry form an important part of her work, she increasingly enjoys the challenge of more experimental lettering. She is the author of two previously published books on calligraphy.

BEAUTIFUL book on illuminated letters!

I have a couple of books on illuminated letters, but this one is the book I reach for first.

It is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous!

It is produced by the "Barron's" company [which also publishes "The Calligrapher's Bible" by David Harris], and they know how to publish calligraphy books - their books are SPIRAL-BOUND so that they lay flat when you are using them, and every detail has been thought of and included.

Just the cover alone is beautiful, but once you open the book it is evident that the author and publisher are truly on the "same page". Illustrations on every page. Gold ink where it belongs. Color everywhere.

Gorgeous!

About the Author

John Harvey is a Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the University of Iowa. He received his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Missouri–Columbia, USA. A Fellow of Division 8 of the American Psychological Association and recepient of the Distinguished Career Award and the New Contribution Award from the International Society for the Study of Personal Relationships in 2000, Dr. Harvey is the author or editor of over 30 books on close relationships

Mark Fine is a Professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Missouri–Columbia, USA. He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Ohio State University, USA. A licensed psychologist in both Missouri and Ohio, Dr. Fine is a Fellow of the National Council on Family Relations. He is currently an editorial board member of Personal Relationships and an Associate Editor of Family Relations and the Journal of Marriage and the Family
